LISD has another innovative Escape Room feature to share, but this time it is on STEM/math. Levelland Middle School sixth-grade students in Mrs. Alannah Brown and Amanda Rodriguez's math classes participated in a digital math escape room, using their new Chromebooks. These LMS students studied ratios, rates, and percent and used their knowledge of ratios and proportional relationships to escape. Students worked in collaborative groups to review and solve different mathematical problems on ratios, rates, and percent. They listened to one another and tried multiple strategies to solve each problem until they found the answer that worked. These kids are so lucky to be in the classroom! Kudos to Mrs. Brown and Rodriguez for engaging students in this brain stretcher that students cannot get at home!
